The Amalfi Coast is a study in vertical living for wildlife as much as for people — houses stacked up the cliffs, and peregrine falcons nesting on the ledges above them.
We based ourselves in a small town between the tourist hubs and watched the cliffs at the edges of the day. Mornings for the swifts screaming around the campanile, late afternoons for the falcons cutting through the updrafts as the light went amber over the water.
